…it’s all about the song.
You are invited to the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country to come and enjoy an exciting weekend of phenomenal singer/songwriter showcases. Our 5th annual event is an “industry-opposite” change from the typical “Austin-palooza-music-fest” that everyone is familiar with. We’re offering people the up-close and personal chance to see, hear, and get to know some very talented performers who have a deep love of the art of songwriting. Put plainly, the Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival is all about finely-crafted SONGS, and the talented folks who have written them.
Highlighted by a list of esteemed local and national talent, our festival features more than 30 shows a day. Audiences are treated to a wide variety of amazing songs and the people and stories behind them as groups of songwriters from all across the US play “in-the-round”, Nashville-style. Event stages are hosted by Dripping Springs’ most popular venues: The Barber Shop Bar, Mercer Street Dance Hall, Mazama Coffee Company, The Sidecar Tasting Room, Hudson’s On Mercer and Acopon Brewing Company – all located within safe, easy walking distance of each other in historic downtown Dripping Springs. These daily performances run all day and night long and are absolutely FREE for everyone!
On Saturday night the SOUTH POINT HYUNDAI/DODGE STAGE at the Mercer Street Dance Hall plays host to an elite headliner showcase featuring some world-class, award-winning songwriting talent. Some have earned Grammy awards – all have had #1 hits. Past DSSF headliners include LORI McKENNA, DEAN DILLON, JD SOUTHER, RODNEY CROWELL, KOSTAS, ALLEN SHAMBLIN, SCOTTY EMMERICK, PAM ROSE, BILLY MONTANA, HELEN DARLING, ELIZA GILKYSON ANGALEENA PRESLEY and DREW WOMACK. As our date draws closer we will announce our 2018 Headliner and tickets for the 2018 Saturday evening headline showcase will be available at our online STORE and at various events and venues in and around Dripping Springs at our “traveling merch table”, and if we’re not sold out, on the weekend of the festival at our sidewalk Merch Store on Mercer Street.
Quickly moving up the list of favorite travel destinations, the City of Dripping Springs is located just 27 minutes west of metro Austin and is a straight, direct shot from Austin-Bergstrom Airport. The community has ample lodging and a number of excellent restaurants, wineries, event venues and pubs.
