…it’s all about the song.

You are invited to the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country to come and enjoy an exciting weekend of phenomenal singer/songwriter showcases. Our 6th annual event is an “industry-opposite” change from the typical  “Austin-palooza-music-fest” that everyone is familiar with.  We’re offering people the up-close and personal chance to see, hear, and get to know some very talented performers who have a deep love of the art of songwriting.   In its essence, the Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival is all about  finely-crafted SONGS, and the talented folks who have written them.

Highlighted by a list of esteemed local and national talent, our festival features more than 30 shows a day.  Audiences are treated to a wide variety of amazing songs and the people and stories behind them as groups of local, national and international songwriters perform “in-the-round”, Nashville-style.  Event stages are hosted by Dripping Springs’ most popular live music venues: The Barber Shop Bar, Mazama Coffee Company, Acopon Brewing Company, The Sidecar Tasting Room, Hudson’s On Mercer and Milton’s Lodging all located within safe, easy walking distance of each other in historic downtown Dripping Springs. These performances run all day and all night long and are absolutely FREE for everyone!  Complimentary shuttle service between Venues runs throughout the event and is provided by Golf Cars of Austin.

Over the years we’ve hosted elite headliner showcases featuring some world-class, award-winning songwriting talent.  Some have earned Grammy awards – all have had #1 hits.  Past DSSF headliners include LORI McKENNA, DEAN DILLON, JD SOUTHER, RODNEY CROWELL, KOSTAS, ALLEN SHAMBLIN, SCOTTY EMMERICK, PAM ROSE, BILLY MONTANA, HELEN DARLING, ELIZA GILKYSON ANGALEENA PRESLEY and DREW WOMACK.

Quickly moving up the list of favorite travel destinations, the City of Dripping Springs is located just 27 minutes west of metro Austin and is a straight, direct shot down Hwy 290 from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA).  The community has ample lodging and a growing number of excellent restaurants, wineries, breweries, pubs and event & wedding venues.

You won’t want to miss a single note of the 6th Annual Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival.  We’re constantly updating this site with new information about this year’s event; including details about the songwriters, the schedules and all the great venues that host our performance stages.  So put October 18-20, 2019 on your calendars now and join us for another awesome weekend of top-notch singer/songwriter showcases.

SONGWRITERS

Songwriter submissions for the 2019 Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival are now closed – our deadline date of 12am/midnight, July 1 has passed. We have close to 400 songwriters to consider, from 4 countries and almost every state in the Union. Please allow our committee a week or two to consider each submission and then select our final line up for this year’s event. After we finalize our decisions each of our chosen songwriters will be notified directly via email and the 2019 Roster will be announced in our mid-July Newsletter and on our Facebook and Twitter pages. We are very sorry but, due to the incredibly high amount of submissions we received, time does not allow us to respond to each individual songwriter that was not selected. After all the selected songwriters have officially confirmed our 2019 Songwriter Roster will be available to be seen at our 2019 SONGWRITERS page on our website, complete with bio/pic/link profiles of each of our featured singer/songwriters.  Sincere thanks to all who submitted, there’s an incredible amount of talent out there!
